What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Adrienne is a beautiful, outdoorsy girl, so we thought an equally beautiful, outdoorsy location would be ideal! Sparks Lake is just up the road from Bend, where we both live, so we thought it would be perfect. Adrienne’s outfits fit wonderfully into the forested shoreline of Sparks Lake. And the sunset light hitting South Sister and Broken Top right behind Adrienne wasn’t too bad either!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We shot at Sparks Lake, on Cascade Lake’s Highway – right outside of Bend, Oregon.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved Adrienne’s beautiful smile! She has such a joy to her, that is seen through the images. Also, the sunset was spectacular this particular evening.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
As a photographer, I try to highlight the natural beauty of the senior with the natural beauty of the outdoors. This shoot did exactly that. Adrienne’s joy and beauty absolutely radiate, while the lake and mountains show their beauty as well.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Make them laugh! Don’t be afraid to be silly with them – it’ll help create natural smiles and laughter. My favorite!
