This week’s Seniorologie Spotlight Image of the Week is by Trina Weingart of VioletRay Photography in Missoula, Montana.  It is a beautiful image that showcases the winter season!  Check out the winning image, along with other images from this senior session!

Tell me a little about this senior and this photo shoot…
This photo shoot was put together as a collaboration between by my senior, Erin, and myself. Being an ice skater and dancer she wanted to portray a story. We wanted to move beyond just making a pretty picture and create an image to intriuge the viewer to find out more about the subject and scene. We also had the privilege of working with one of our local boutiques that specializes in the unique style Erin loves. Together we were able to piece together the entire look showcasing the sense of style and poise Erin possesses.

Where did this shoot take place?
Erin has some friends who own a personal ice rink about 10 miles outside of Missoula, MT. We drove up the mountain to do her  unique and special shoot. The man- made mountain rink was an ice princesses dream, surrounded by simplistic beauty that breathed the essence of what Erin wanted to portray, making it a prime location for the session!
What about the winning image stood out to you and made you submit it to Seniorologie?
The gentle yet steady gaze in her eyes and the use of negative space surrounding her. These elements made for a thought provoking image to hold your attention captive. The distinctive colours and tones make this image appear almost as if it’s an oil painting.  I love fashioning images that, in the most subtle of ways, generate an immense impression.
What do you love most about Senior photography?
Senior photography is a joy to my heart because I love working with the youth. I adore the one on one time, and the ability to get to know each individual and capture their personalities. My goal with every shoot is to make dreams a reality; to ensure each senior leaves their session with a renewed self-confidence. I want each and every young adult to feel beautiful and special because they truly are. I delight in the diversity of senior photography because each session is original. Each senior is distinct and has a story to tell. I always feel particularly blessed when I am chosen to help tell their tale.
From Seniorologie:  This image caught our eye because it illustrated the winter season in such a beautiful way.  The texture adds to the winter theme and the senior really stands out against the background.  Trina did a beautiful job capturing this senior in a unique way and the clothing colors are such a bright spot on a wintery day!  Like Trina said above, this image really does look like an oil painting!
