Seniorologie is a blog dedicated to the study of high school portrait photography.  We believe in supporting one another, showcasing amazing talent in the senior photography field and positivity.  We believe in a community of photographers that help and befriend each other.  We believe that there is a space and opportunity for each of us in this field and Seniorologie is here to foster these beliefs, help photographers and provide a positive place to share images, videos, etc.

There have been some questions and concerns about the voting in some of the recent contests we’ve been holding. While we have a strict set of contest rules that we will not deviate from, I still thought it would be a good idea to make sure we reiterated the overall point behind these contests.

Seniorologie has a very large, regular readership. Our contestants are among that readership. When we have images or videos submitted, and finalists are chosen, we are really looking to that Seniorologie readership to vote on which ones THEY think are the best.

Does that prevent you from promoting your favorite contestants or asking friends and family to vote? Certainly not, both are allowed. But remember, this isn’t a contest to see who has the most friends and family with a computer and internet access, it’s about the Seniorologie community voting on their own members and selecting winners based on the quality of the work.

These contests are about recognizing beautiful senior photography, gaining inspiration and creating a sense of support within the photography community.

I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this contest, and remember to promote your favorite contestants ethically!
