‘Don’t blink.’ We all know that things change in the blink of an eye & our industry is certainly no exception. Our clients are TEENAGERS. Teens are always on the cutting edge of technology with the newest phones, latest apps, & coolest trends… So when they are choosing their photographer, they don’t want what Seniors had last year. They want what they can’t have. What others don’t offer. Whatever that thing is – they already want it & they don’t even know it exists, yet. They just know they want to be different and Seniors are fully aware that technology changes in a flash, so they know…. Trust me. They know that something new is on the horizon. Right now, that something new is video. And you can guarantee the Seniors want it.

I began creating Senior Films simply because my camera had the ability to record video & I figured I should use it to it’s full potential. Little did I know how incredible video would become in my business. I adore video. It’s emotional & beautiful & messy & perfect… It makes people laugh and cry, even more so than images do. Do I still love Senior portraits? Absolutely. Video just adds something that was missing.

My absolute favorite part about video is the ability to capture slow motion. There’s something so incredible about slow motion. It makes us all slow down. It makes us sit back and take it all in. How many times in life would you have given everything you own to slow down time, even for just a moment? Don’t blink – or life will pass you by… Don’t blink – or your children grow up… Just imagine what it would mean to a parent if you could slow down a moment in time and capture that for them. Watching your Senior spin, or laugh, or blink will bring a gamut of emotions into your client meeting that you may never have had before. And yes, portraits themselves do bring out many emotions – but once you experience what a Senior Film can do in your client meetings you’ll have a whole new outlook on video. The emotions thereafter are tenfold. It certainly doesn’t end with the parents, either. This is the ‘selfie generation’. Video is part of their smartphone world… incorporating that into their Senior session is simply a no-brainer.

If you’ve been thinking about incorporating video into your Senior business, now’s the time. It’s the talk of the town in the Senior industry, so you definitely want to be the first in your town to offer it. You want to make it your own and incorporate it into your brand before anyone else has the chance to do so. And if you want to learn the A-Z of Senior video, you might just want to catch a flight to warm, sunny Florida in February. 🙂 I’ll be hosting a 2 1/2 day, intensive, Senior Films Workshop. You’ll learn all the skills you need to go home and create the most jaw-dropping, emotion filled video for your clients to love and treasure. BUT, there are ONLY 4 seats left & THIS WEEK ONLY you can take $100 off of your seat… so check out the link below & enjoy the Senior Film, too!
