Step It Up with Your Models Senior Sessions

Senior Sessions with your models should stand out as you are finally documenting their senior year. Take time in a consultation beforehand to plan out all the details of their session from outfits to location ideas to props they can bring along to show their personality. Then, take some behind-the-scenes time to plan on special surprises for your models. Ask what their favorite drink or candy is and bring it to the session for them. Deliver their model gift or T-shirt at the session or come up with something extra for your models at their sessions.

It’s good to have each of the models get a middle-type package for their session. For instance, if you have three session types, have all the models fall into the middle session to ensure you are giving them the experience that their friends will most likely choose too. If a model wants to go for the larger type session, by all means have them do that too, and depending on their upfront investment, you might have them pay a touch more for upgrading.

Spend a little bit more time with your models at their senior session. They are your word on the street/high school hallway and you want to have them talking positively about you. To step it up a notch, take them to a new location to test out or play with new lighting and let them know they are the first to try this. Keep reminding them how thankful you are to have them on your team. You can’t say this enough!

Using social media throughout the session is a great way to help the model spread the word too. Tag them in Instagram with behind-the-scene photos of the session and let them know they can repost them to their own account too. You can also post photos of back of your camera previews, details of their outfits or short videos. All this helps keep momentum going to help them feel more like a model and a star.

After their senior session is done make sure to send them a personalized thank you note. Hand write it and thank them for the fun time and share how excited you are to show them the final images.

It is still important to do an ordering appointment with each of the senior models. You can include images from any of their past model sessions as well. It is a perfect time to remind them how much fun they’ve had so far and that it will continue throughout the year as you have them represent your business.
