Setting goals for your business is a great way to keep yourself motivated and moving toward those goals.  One of the goals for photographer LeeYen Lobendahn of Loblee Photography was to photograph seniors and their best friends.

“What makes the stressful senior year fun and bearable?  Friends!” said LeeYen.  “Getting all dolled up together so they can have a great time getting timeless pictures that they can appreciate over the years is what a best friend shoot is all about!”

Check out this beautiful session with three friends below.  Not only was this session a best friend senior session, it was a concept shoot depicting the roaring 20’s!  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie LeeYen!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
The roaring 1920’s!

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Utah State Capitol

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
No and that was kind of the fun part. All we asked for ahead of time was: what type of clothes are you comfortable wearing (sleeveless, cleavage etc..) and their dress size. They were super excited to see what they would be wearing (Clothes, jewelry headpieces..). They did have a do a little Rock-paper-scissors to see who would wear what but in the end they were very happy with their picks.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Mamiya 645af , Mamiya 80mm 1.9
Kodak portra 400
Backdrop stand
Shower curtain (Haha)

What time of day were these taken?
10am

What is your favorite thing about this session?
How fun and timeless these pictures will be!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Although they may not be this “dressed up” every day, I still want the pictures to be age appropriate. They are still teenagers with their future ahead of them.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Not every single senior can be comfortable in front of a camera. But add her bffs? You’re bound to get some excited and fun seniors!
