Episode #4 – Goal Setting for the Senior Photographer, An Interview with Brittni Schroeder of Brittni Schroeder Photography

January is almost over!  Have you set your goals for 2019 yet?  Each year, we all strive to set goals for both our personal and business lives but how do we set realistic goals that we can actually accomplish?

In Episode 4 of The Seniorologie Podcast, I interview Brittni Schroeder of Brittni Schroeder Photography and ask her how to set goals that we can actually stick to and what we should be doing when it comes to setting goals.

Brittni is a business and life coach so she is the perfect person to have help us set goals.  Through her coaching, she helps other creative business owners stick to their goals, pushes them to do the things they want to do and coaches them along the way.  Brittni has been coaching me and I have gotten more accomplished by having her there to make sure I am doing what I need to be doing!  I would probably put off certain goals if I didn’t have a weekly check in with Brittni!  But since I don’t want to disappoint her, I get things done.  All of which are steps to accomplishing my goals for 2019!

What are your goals for 2019?  We would love to hear from you!!  Share one goal you have by doing a quick video and posting it on Instagram, tag @seniorologie and use the hashtag #seniorologie or go to our Instagram story and screenshot our Goals template, add your goal to it and share it, tag @seniorologie and use the hashtag #seniorologie.  By putting at least one of your goals out there, you are not only more likely to accomplish it but we will help you along the way!!!

The Seniorologie Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by Leslie Kerrigan, creator of Seniorologie, for high school senior photographers.  Whether you are just starting out or you have been photographing seniors for a while, The Seniorologie Podcast is your resource for all things senior photography related.

Highlights from Episode 4:

  • Be Realistic – Think about the time it will take to reach certain goals and make sure you are realistic about it.  Setting daily, weekly and yearly goals is a great way to break it down into manageable goals.
  • Setting Goals gives you a roadmap – By setting goals, you have a clear direction of where you want to go in your business.  By taking the time to set goals each year, you can keep those goals in mind throughout the year and keep yourself on track to reach those goals.
  • Write Goals Down – don’t just think of things in your mind!  You will never accomplish them that way.  Write them down, put them somewhere you will look at to remind yourself of where you need to go and what you need to do!  Goals are accomplished much faster when we actually write them down.
  • Set Specific Goals – senior photographers should think about goals such as how many seniors do I want to photograph each month, how much money do I want to make this year, etc.  By breaking it down into specific goals with a clear answer you are more likely to accomplish those goals.
