Modern Renaissance is what I see when I look at the photos from this beautiful senior session below. Lori of Lori Michelle Photography said she wanted to capture Christina’s laid back nature and wanted the images to really reflect the true personality of this senior.
I think she accomplished exactly that! Check out this session below and read what else Lori had to say about this senior session. Be sure to check out more of Lori’s work here. Thanks for sharing this with us Lori!!
What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Christina and her laid back easy going nature was the inspiration behind this shoot. I wanted these images to really reflect her.
Where did this photo shoot take place?
Reed College in Portland, OR
It’s a beautiful college campus with lots variety, which was perfect for this session, and I knew it had the perfect woodsy setting for her renaissance outfit.
Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes. Christina and her family attend the annual renaissance fairs here so it was important for her to include her costume in her senior photos. For the rest of her outfits she wanted to be comfortable and wear the things she normally does so her pictures would be a true reflection of her as a senior.
What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Nikkor 85mm f/1.4G
What time of day were these taken?
Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I import into LR4 and make color adjustments then export into Photoshop for blemish removal, color bump and any other minor adjustments.
What is your favorite thing about this session?
I was skeptical about the renaissance outfit but I actually really love the look and feel of how those photos especially turned out.
What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want it to show you don’t need to have the most trendy outfits to get beautiful photos. Christina is not into fashion at all and it was important for her session to truly represent her.
What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Relax and have fun, your senior will feed off your energy. The more relaxed you are the more they will relax and let loose themselves.
