Senior Photographer Michelle Moore had the pleasure of photographing not only one beautiful senior but TWO!  Twin sisters Savy and Tori have a special bond, and Michelle did an awesome job showing their relationship!  Below is in interview with Michelle about this session!  Thanks for sharing this session with Seniorologie, Michelle!!

What was your inspiration for this shoot? These were clients that chose to book me for a Senior Portrait Session.  I love working with twins, and chose to do over-lapping sessions so I could capture both girls unique personalities, in addition to getting some nice shots of them together.  I like to keep my client sessions simple and not over-styled so that the focus is on the girls beauty and personality, and the final images will look timeless.

Where did this shoot take place? In the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle

What camera, lens and equipment was used for this photo shoot? Canon 1Ds Mark II + 85mm 1.2L + 35mm 1.4L

What time of day was this shoot? This was shot in the afternoon from 4-7pm

Can you share any posing tips on shooting twins? Let them be natural.  I’ll have them stand together, and put an arm around each other, and let them interact to see how comfortable they are.  I try to avoid things that are too over-posed with my seniors, so I’ll have them giggle, or dance around to loosen any tension.  It’s always good to start with a really simple open-hug type of pose, and then go from there.

Were there any special post-processing techniques used on these images that you can share with us? I always keep my processing simple + clean for Senior Portraits.  I have an in-depth article about my processing techniques here, http://www.michellemooreblog.com/2010/01/29/skintones/

What is your favorite thing about these images? I love the connection between the girls – I think it highlights their friendship and sisterhood really well.  The lighting is my favorite, with the fresh, back-lit sun.

What do you want/think these photos convey about these seniors and about your senior photographer business? I always strive for each of my clients to have a top-notch experience with us from beginning to end.  Each client will have a different personality or style, but at the end of the day the work should have consistency.  Clients come to me for the experience I offer, and trust me that they’ll have beautiful images consistent with those seen on my website and blog.  I hope these images convey all the fun we had at the shoot and make others excited for their own session with us!

What is one tip you could share with other senior photographers? Be yourself.  It’s such a simple tip and can be applied to EVERY aspect of your business, from your wording on your website, to your style, to your posing.  It’s okay to be inspired by others to learn and grow, but then take that inspiration and find your own voice.
