Sometimes all it takes is one prop to spark an idea and inspire you to create a photo shoot around that prop.  In the shoot below by talented photographer Jared of Jared Rey Photography he says that he saw the big flower at Hobby Lobby and just knew it would be perfect for this Valentine’s themed concept shoot.

I think I have passed by those same flowers at Hobby Lobby a million times and each time thought how cool they would be in a shoot.  However, I never bought one.  Jared proves that you should grab what you see and create a shoot around it.  Not only will it be something awesome to show off to your seniors but it will allow you to grow creatively as you create something spectacular!

Check out Jared’s shoot below and read what he had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Jared!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I wanted to get some of my models together just for fun to do something for Valentine’s Day. I saw these huge roses at Hobby Lobby and thought it be fun to incorporate them into a shoot and this was the perfect opportunity to do it. I rounded up as many of my spokesmodels as possible and gave them some guidance on cute Valentine’s Themed outfits and we just spent some time together taking pictures.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This shoot took place in a local small town square.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, we worked together to come up with the outfits for our session.I sent them all some pinterest outfit ideas and asked them to stick with pink, red, grey tones for the outfits. They did an awesome job putting the outfits together!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Fuji XT-1 with the 56mm lens and the Canon 5D MK3 with a 135/L lens.

These were edited with VSCO lightroom presets and Alien Skin Exposure for Photoshop

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love the colors and the mood of the session.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I wanted this to be a cute and fun shoot for my spokesmodels. Just something fun and carefree. I wanted to give these girls a chance to hang out and see each other again and have fun doing it!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
If you have ideas and themes that you have always wanted to try, using your spokesmodels is a great way to experiment and do something just for fun!
