The Seniorologie Podcast Episode 17 – Photographers Need Photos Too!

In last week’s episode, I talked about putting ourselves out on social media, the fears that go along with that and why it is important!  But how can we put ourselves out on social media if we don’t have photos to share?  As photographers, we are always the last ones to have photos taken and we come up with lots of excuses as to why we don’t have our photos taken!  Things like, “I am the one behind the camera, not in front of the camera!” and “I don’t know anyone to take my photo!”  But not matter what the excuse is, we need to get over it and have our photos taken!

In today’s episode, I am sharing some of the common excuses and why we need to get over them, book a photoshoot specifically for ourselves and our business and what types of photos to have taken so we have a bank of photos to share on social media.

• 5 Excuses as to why we don’t have photos taken of ourselves– We can come up with even more excuses that keep us from having photos taken but we need to stop with the excuses, book a session and have photos to share on social media so our followers, potential clients and clients can see us, get to know us, trust us and hire us to take their photos!
• Types of photographers to look for – Think of who you know that is a photographer in your area or think of a photographer you admire…hiring one of these types of photographers will help you feel better about having your photos taken.
• Types of photos to have taken – You need more than a headshot!  Headshots are great but they don’t fully allow your personality to shine through!  In this episode I share the different types of photos to have taken in addition to the traditional headshot so you can share YOU with your followers!
• Suggested Photographers – I am giving you three photographers in different parts of the country that are great for personal branding shoots!  And if those are not in your area, join The Seniorologie Community to get to know other photographers that may be in your area!!  A trade of photos between photographers is a great way to get photos, get to know each other, support each other and save money!
• Challenge – I challenge you to think of a photographer in your area or one you admire, contact them, book a session and put it on your calendar!  No more excuses!!
