Wow!  Time sure flies in the blogging world!  I can’t believe I started Seniorologie a year ago!  I am so excited to celebrate this milestone with each of you!!  So the entire month of August is dedicated to the celebration!

I honestly didn’t know that anyone would ever read this blog.  I really just did it as a way to share information that I have learned and continue to learn about senior portrait photography and to highlight the beautiful work of so many fabulous senior portrait photographers.  What was once small, has grown into something beyond my wildest dreams.  And for that I am completely grateful!  Just knowing so many of you learn and get inspired from Seniorologie is the reason I keep blogging everyday!

As a thank you to each one of you, I am going to do an ASK ANYTHING POST!!  If you have questions about Seniorologie, Senior Photography or anything else, leave a comment below!  I will be answering the questions left by you, the fans, on Saturday, August 5.  So be sure to ask your most burning questions and post them below by Friday, August 3 at 7 p.m.  I can’t wait to see what yall want to know!

In addition to the ask anything post, I will be posting some fun things over the course of the month of August.  Seniorologie is hosting a vendor week that you don’t want to miss!  Each day during the week of August 5, some of our favorite vendors will be giving away awesome prizes and each day one of YOU could be the lucky winner of these prizes.  Be sure to check in each day to find out what that day’s prizes are!!

We also will be unveiling a new look to the blog, new posts, new educational material and much, much more!  There are so many fun things ahead.  Year TWO will be even better than the first! (if that is possible!) 🙂

But before the celebration can get started, I want to say THANK YOU!  From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!  I am inspired by each of you every day.  There is so much great work out there and I am so happy to showcase it here on Seniorologie.  I want us all to support one another, learn from each other and continue in this journey to be the best photographers together!!  If there is something special you want to see on the blog, email me.  If you know of a deserving photographer that should be featured, email me.  If you ever have a question about anything, don’t hesitate to email me.  I can always be reached at info@seniorologie.com.

And because no post is complete without photos, I wanted to share my version of a Birthday inspired senior photo shoot!  This was a very DIY shoot, put together in a moments notice.  Lucky for me one of my senior reps is always willing to model and my makeup artist is always up for a photo shoot.  I made the streamers with one pack of scrapbook paper in a variety of colors purchased at Hobby Lobby for $5.  I taped them to the ceiling of my garage and set up a white seamless paper backdrop (borrowed from my makeup artist!).  It was a very inexpensive concept shoot that you too can do!!

To inspire you to do your own version of a birthday celebration senior photo shoot, I have included a pinterest board for inspiration!  I would love to see what you come up with!  Submit the images to me at info@seniorologie.com by August 15 and your images could be at the top of our newly designed blog and featured on our Facebook Timeline cover!  I would love to showcase your work to help celebrate Seniorologie’s Birthday!!

Three chances to join in Seniorologie’s Birthday Inspiration:

– Comment below on your most burning question about Seniorologie, Senior Photography or anything

– Submit YOUR version of a Birthday Concept Shoot for a chance to have your images featured at the top of our soon-to-be-revealed new blog design

– Visit it the blog daily during the month of August to see what new things we have in store!  Especially during Vendor Week because you could win a special prize!

Happy Birthday Seniorologie!!

Such a cute idea! What was your lighting set up for the birthday shoot?

    • Leslie says:

Thank you Ashley! The lighting was all natural light! No special equipment needed! An open Garage is a really great place to get beautiful light!!

  3. Jade says:

When are the usual times of year you would want to be shooting senior portraits? Before their final year even starts, the first few months, etc.? And what is the best way to draw potential clients if you’re not allowed to advertise on campus and don’t yet have reps?
